So far I think the libraries feature in Win7 is about as stupid as it gets...the header is wasted space, but at least we can skin it now.

I decided to try and find a use for this feature so it would seem useful. I dont see how its different in ANY way from using shortcuts to ANY damn location on ANY hardrive I have...you can make your own folder full of shortcuts and call it a 'library'.

So...I try to use it and as soon as I use the arrange by drop down set to anything other than 'folder'...it says this folder is empty...???!...funny,a second ago it was full of files and folders.

So what the hell is going on?

Help ol' Brain out.

I swear MS must hate...menus,cascading menus, shortcuts, toolbar buttons, customization, space that isnt wasted, status bars that provide useful info, windows that have only the options I want on display(a preview pane that works...when you want, and for any file)...ME.

I never use it, and have never seen a use for it. I prefer to organize my stuff the way I want it done. (ask anyone who really knows me....I am very organized)

While trying to figure my problem out I found something I have never seen before...only available if you have your toolbar showing(that MS dosnt want you to use anymore)

hide filenames?...weird but nice looking if you have a folder of images that you are already familiar with or you just dont need to know the names of.

Only seems to affect image formats so its sorta cool .

I don't use it either and was quite perturbed that I couldn't remove it from the nav pane. So instead I went back to FindeXer and changed the pinned taskbar shortcut where explorer opens to point to my wallpapers folder instead of the useless libraries.
