when switching from horizontal to vertical
Published on April 3, 2010 By I.R. Brainiac In Object Desktop

Been seeing this for awhile...when switching taskbar from vert to horz(or viceyvercey)...the QL buttons dont change to the ones assigned to that particular config.

Its like they are stuck  on whatever config was last used. They do correct themselves if you re-apply the skin but some users might not know to do that and just think your a lousy skinner...cant have that.

Rebooting of course allows them to be correct...til you switch taskbars again.7,Vista and XP all do this I think...been awhile since I checked on XP.

A side issue...on 7 vertical taskbars there is a LOT of space under the start button before you get to the first pinned app buttons...like about 100 pixels or more.

I checked other skins and a few have less wasted space but not by much and I was unable to determine any difference that would account for this.

Cant make a screeny of it just now...am on blech,Vista.

I hate to ask the obvious question, but, why, pray tell, can't you make a screeny in Vista?

You know that Vista has paint, right?

There are no quicklaunch icons on Windows 7.

They seem to switch OK on XP...but not Vista or 7...yes,I have Quicklaunch buttons on 7...they just are not displayed by default.

Its no different than adding a folder toolbar to any of the OS's.

  its  right click>new toolbar> [ %appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch ]

Interesting...I posted something here and it worked, but all of the sudden, it's no longer there!

Anyway, I just wanted to say that you can see the quick launch buttons in W7 by adding a toolbar to the taskbar.

Yep, I don't use them anymore but there are most def. QL buttons in 7.
